Dawn Elder

DawyDawn Elder is an International entertainment magnate, music producer –media personality, and composer.  Her US-based production, media/entertainment firm DE Mgmt/ DE Music specializes in bringing together musicians from around the globe providing them with new avenues to bridge cultures through their arts. She is the original founder of the world-renowned International Friendship Festivals, Peace through Music series and creator of hundreds of cultural songs, recordings and events spanning a broad spectrum of media which have helped to bring together diverse communities in the spirit  of promoting harmony and unity both in the United States and abroad.

 

Elder  has been recognized and honored for her work by President Clinton, Senator Dianne Feinstein, the Arab League of States-Arab Culture, Amnesty International, to name a few for both her work in multi cultural arts and music over years.  ABC News Now in 2007 called her one of the most influential International music producers of her time.  LA Times she recognized her for making a difference in World Music and bridging Middle East Cultural understanding throughout the globe and communities in the United States.

 

Some of Elder’s more momentous occasions include historic recordings and events with Lebanese diva Sabbah and the Bridge lead by Michael Sembello, with Stevie Wonder-One Planet One People,  the reunion recording of the songs from late legendary Nubian/Sudanese singer Mohammed Wardi, Two Tenors of Arab Music, Simon Shaheen & Qantara Blue Flame, 2002,  2004 collaborations with Quincy Jones at the World Economic Forum in New York and We are the Future in Rome in the wake of 911, the challenge of breaking down barriers in 2003 by touring and recording an Iraqi artist just a few weeks before the war.  2005, the bridging of Arab, North African, Latin and western music through her recording and live performance work with Khaled & Santana in the song “Love to the People” – Peace through Music series.  In 2007 , 2008 the Sudanese Music & Dance Legends on tour.  In 2010, Citizens of the World, in 2011 the first Arab World concert for Global Gumbo All stars lead by Quincy Jones and developing the song project Bokra/Tomorrow with Arab stars.  And in 2012, composing and presenting the song /project

New Day on the Horizon -Teal-One97 and Voices of Afghanistan for the One World Concert with the Dalia Lama, Don Was and the late Phil Ramone produced by Sam Nappi. And now 2013 brings  one of her most ambitious recordings yet with Voices of Afghanistan& guests for this special album entitled Love Songs for Humanity.

Dawn’s knowledge, dedication and love for multicultural arts and world music has led her to become one of the leading broadcast authorities and music producer for this growing genre in the film & entertainment industry.
